“Meg really helped us through such a transformative time. In addition, she is very knowledgeable in all things babies & persons who have babies and healing. I can’t recommend her enough!”
About
Meg Berg (she/her) is a Certified Lactation Counselor & Holistic Postpartum Doula.
In 2019, her passion led her from her Brooklyn nest all the way to the South Pacific to obtain her doula certification at The Sacred Birthing School on the island of Kaua'i, Hawaii. During her time in Hawaii, Meg had contact hours with several prenatal and postnatal families. Her intimate hours with the local families lead her to understand the unsung impact postpartum care has on the dyad of mama & baby but also on the partner, older kids, grandparents, and others.
Our modern society’s lack of postpartum support set her compass towards postpartum care with a concentration on feeding, birth experience processing through story sharing, and infant physical development.
Meg’s had her boots on the ground, focusing her career on newborn care for the past 4 years in Brooklyn, NY. She has stayed connected to her Brooklyn birth community, apart from her 3-months adventure to Berlin, Germany to help a beloved client family move and settle into their new life!
Meg’s diverse training background will come in handy as you ride the waves of the your unique birth journey. Meg blends her training as a doula, Holistic Wellness Coach, and Lactation Counselor to assess a client’s emotional, physical, and spiritual needs on a day-to-day basis. Meg fanciest herself as a bit of a “situation chameleon,” swinging from a western medicine nurse persona, inspired by her lovely mother, to Lily Tomlin’s hippie/artist character, Frankie, from Grace and Frankie. Meg wants you to feel confident and comfortable in your time together and hopes to engage with you on a level that is supportive in every way.

Reflections from Clients
Meg honors modern medicine in her practice but believes there needs to be ample room in each birthing body for intuition to play a key role. One’s connection to their body should always be taken into account before, during, and after the birthing experience as medical concerns arise. The most exploited, ignored, and marginalized group in our society are black women. Black women are 3x more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women [CDC, 2022]. Systemic racism permeates our healthcare system and it is Meg’s belief that this must influence, instruct, & direct her birth work.
Love for a child is unconditional and knows no bounds.
Lunar Fruit Doula supports and welcomes persons of all genders, sexual identities, and bodies in their pursuit of creating a loving , educational, and stable home for the next generation.
